Hope it works out favorably and the right people are elected! I won't be at the meeting and frankly, don't have much hope of anything changing for the better. Sorry to be negative, but I am burned out over incompetency and am embarrassed to be branded a "Republican". I prefer to be an "Independent" at this point in time. I wish everyone well, but my efforts will be elsewhere for a while!

They don't expect any protests over Turnips and Squash, that these so-called backyard gardeners are raising veggies for fun like people have done since the beginning of mans exeistance ! So now that it is percieved that the sheepel will comply, now it's time to starve us out and march us around in compounds until we're all hungry and will do anything for food and a place to sleep and crap ! The First in the 7th Congressional Debate was a very informative successful event with a large crowd of constituents in attendance. All nine congressional Candidates participated and gave their views and plans on dealing with important issues in the new 7th District. Thanks to the four sponsoring groups who helped organize, plan and make this important evening happen: CCU College Republicans, Carolina Patriots, Conservatives for Responsible Government and South Strand Republican Club. If you give a grant doesn't somebody receive it? Doesn't that somebody have to form a committee or agency to spend that grant? Is that somebody then beholden to the giver of that of that grant? And once that grant is spent is more grant then given? How then can you say that it is not a government agency? My dad said to me as a kid, "lairs can figure but figure don't lie".

I hope she's right about that, "...he cannot win the coming election"; But not about his opponents, our Republican candidates. So much has been said that whomever wins the nomination against Obama, that he can't defeat him; but tha's all speculation and negative thinking, no matter who it is. It's Anyone But Obama time! And not just because we'll just go with anyone who's an opponent of Obama, either. But we really need to stand behind the nominee even if he didn't win here in SC, too. I know about Romney, I lived in a state next to his when he Governed Massachusettes and heard all the rhetoric about him then; that's when he was a Democrat. But he's taken a lot of states and towers over the remaining field that they need a prayer and a miracle to get up to his numbers. So, it's time to pick the winner, folks, time to stand behind one, time to support the opponent who can stand up to Obama and beat him...even if it's Romney. If we don't like him, we'll just give him 4 years and vote in a real conservative!

These types of underhanded tactics by legislatures is exactly why I support term limits and the citizens of SC deserve better than this. My tolerance level for manipulation and backdoor haggling is zero! We The People are watching and we still have a voice at the polls!

I see two keys issues which are largely being ignored by the Tea Party.
The first issue is that of war. Presidents come and go, but the bases around the world, 900+ of them, depending on who you ask, stay open. The borders, the very thing we should be protecting stay relatively unprotected. We are bombing countries abroad and the media lies about the reason,
The second issue is that of monetary malfeasance. The Central Bank of this country just gave away 16 trillion dollars to foreign and domestic banks/corporations and when ask about accountability they tell congress, "well get back to you on that". 16 trillion and neither the president nor congress is addressing this enormous amount of money being handed out to private entities. In other times this would have been considered treason.

I do agree with your principles, Janet. That is an important aspect to determine in this election and we should all agree that if a candidate holds up to our principles and issues, we should consider that candidate. There was such a candidate at the beginning of the GOP campaign, before the Iowa caucus, but she bowed out after it because of low ratings and votes, That was Michelle Bachmann, of course, who's been to SC at least 3 times before the Iowa votes. She instilled every principle I believed in but I guess that wasn't enough for the SC people to believe in, and when Sarah Palin commented on the Fox News that Michelle should step down, I lost all hope for Sarah and in fact, I despised her for doing that. Sarah may have well lost the election against Obama for us with that comment. Michelle wasn't supported enough, funded enough, yet she worked tirelessly coverying every county in Iowa, had 5 telephone-townhalls (I listened to every one of them on my phone), ran her own bus and campaign entirely out of donations, but ran out of those funds that caused her to bow out after Iowa. That is the crying shame of it all. People will be sorry for what we have left to choose from this field, but we have to make a choice. I hope Romney is not the nominee, of course; and Santorum is showing weakness out there; I do not like Ron Paul's foregin policy; and Newt has had his past come back to him, but he is still hanging in there and has the stamina to put up a good fight. I know it might bite me at the end, but what is left out there is an all or nothing fight to beat Obama, and isn't that the entire crux of the whole thing? If someone does come into the race that shows us they are better than Newt, then ok, I'll change my mind, but that person better be stepping up to the plate fast, for it's getting a little late in the game to WOW the people's principles!

Our 2d Amendment Rights are in danger with this current administration, and if Obama is re-elected, he will insure that every gun owner will no longer OWN A GUN! Go to the NRA website, www.nranews.com, and look for it's magazine called "America's 1st Freedom", and read the Exec. Vice President, Wayne LaPierre's article he posts in "Standing Guardian", titled "All or Nothing Election for the Second Amendment." In it, he shows a statement from Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-CA, an anti-Second Amendment rival, and Asst. U.S. Attorney General Lanny Breuer exposing the "first step in President Barack Obama's second-term agenda for the destruction of our freedom." She, Feinstein, said on a "60 Minutes" show, told the CBS commentator that "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them - Mr. and Mrs America, turn them all in-I would have done it." Obama is spending $75,000-a-plate fundraisers for his super-rich cronies and his radical bureaucrats and Czars to do his "dirty work" to attack our 2d Amendment while he remains "above the fray". Obama believes and is bamboozling his crony people into believing that the 2d Amendment right is "limited to membership in organized military forces - a view shared by four justices on the U.S. Supreme Court including Obama's pick, Justice Sonya Sotomayor." He's reading it all wrong. Let's take a look at it. The Second Amendment reads, "A well regulated militia," [that's the military organization part] "being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Do you see where the commas (,) are here? What does that tell you? That there are a succession of items being listed as part of the whole sentence to be included in the entire sentence to explain its literal meaning. THAT'S the whole CRUX of the Obama misleading, misreading, mis-interpretation of the United States Constitution, AND the English language! He does NOT understand about the COMMA! Our Forefathers who wrote the Constitution did! Obama is attempting to tell you that only the "militia" - a military unit - is allowed to carry weapons, not the general public, but yet, that ONE comma, included in the entire sentence is including the "people" - (comma), the right of the people" --- that is another succession in an order of items in that sentence to be included into the meaning of the entire sentence. Obama does NOT know how to COMPREHEND the English Language!! If you remember your basic English courses in Junior and Senior High School, the comma is the most MIS-understood term and use of the English language. People who write tend to place that comma in too many places and in the wrong places or not at all where it should be placed. We need to send this correction to our Reps and Senators who think Obama is right, but he is WRONG as usual! READ the CONSTITUTION and COMPREHEND it the way its SUPPOSED to be read in the ENGLISH langauge!! But we need to really do the fight this year, this election is a FIGHT for our Second Amendment Rights! If we lost that Right, we lose our entire Rights in the Constitution! FIGHT for your RIGHTS and DEFEAT Obama this November!

I agree that neither Newt nor Romney match the principles of the tea party movement. Many in SC that say they are tea party, voted for Newt and comprised their principles. This is still a primary. Maybe there will be a brokered convention. I don't want another great debater for my new president, We already have a greater debater now and look what a mess this country is in. By looking at how a candidate has previously voted, their speeches, books and how they campaign, is a good judgment of a person's character. I still hope there might be someone else to enter this race. It is better to get everything out in the open now in the primary rather than in the general election. At this point, I am not willing to throw in the towel and not stick by my principles. I will fight for and defend the Constitution. Another important goal for 2012 is to replace some of the senate and house with true conservatives that will defend and follow the CONSTITUTION.

First of all, I disagree with choice of Tim Scott as a candidate; not because he is "green" but because he voted in FAVOR of the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act)! He's a Flip-Flopper, just like Romney! And as far as Romney is concerned, FreedomWorks hasn't lived in a state next to MA when Romney was Governor! I did! I knew people in MA who was under the Romeny-Care and they did NOT like that one little bit! Believe me, I came from a northern state who live next to MA while Romney was Gov and we always had the local news channels reporting on what was going on with Romney! He's a flip-flopper, he lost to an '08 election because the people in MA knew him! So, he's not going to get it. The BEST possibility for a win-win situation is Newt....the people of SC made their voice, without the help of a Tea Party. Who cares about the Tea Party? They are not always right all the time....they were for Ron Paul more than anything, and look at his votes in the SC Primary. Doesn't that say something? Plus I watched the After Primary comments from the FoxNews channel panelists and one of them said that Gingrich has the stamina to beat Obama in a debate, and Obama HAS to do at least 3 debates for the Presidential Primary, else his re-election will be null and void, and that was the stipulation from the panel discussion. They all agreed that Gingrich has the best win in a debate against Obama and that will be our best hope against Obama. I was first for Michelle Bachmann, but all you people somehow didn't want her in because you didn't believe in her. I did. But now its too late for that, so all I could do was vote for the candidate with the best possibilty of beating Obama. Newt was my choice, and he won the Primary here. Get on with it, people, get off the "open marriage" kick, and by the way, that offensive cartoon is WRONG. There are reports of his ex-wife that she very UNSTABLE. A woman scorned will say just about anything!
